CTP is an imaging technology which is used in the initial pre-printing process. It transfers digital artwork directly onto printing plates, ensuring superior accuracy, sharper detail, and faster turnaround times compared to traditional film-based methods.
Offset printing is a commonly used method of mass-production printing in which the images on metal plates are transferred (offset) to rubber blankets or rollers and then to the print media. The print media, usually paper, does not come into direct contact with the metal plates. This prolongs the life of the plates. In addition, the flexible rubber conforms readily to the print media surface, allowing the process to be used effectively on rough-surfaced media such as canvas, cloth or wood.
Punching of the printed sheets is the most important stage to get the folding box ready to use. For neutral packaging without printed information, punching the folding box is the first stage in the process. Thus, irrespective of whether the packaging will be printed in many different ways, or simply neutral, punching the printed sheets is a stage that also demands the highest degree of precision to produce high quality sales packaging, which can then be processed further.
Pasting is the final stage where the punched folding box pieces are pasted at the designated points. This is an important requirement of sales packaging, to give the necessary stability and durability.
A folding carton is made-up from paperboard. The paperboard is printed, die-cut and scored to form a blank. These are transported and stored in flat position, and initiated at the point of filling. These are used to package a wide range of goods that could be either for one-time use or as a storage box for the remaining goods.
